Check the PHP version on your server, it must be 7.2 or higher.
If the problem persists, this may occur due to a missing extension on your hosting server. To view the error, enable development mode on your website.
Use FTP, and edit the public_html/index.php file. Change the environment from production to development at line number 57.

Also modify the application/config/database.php file and change the db_debug to true at line number 84.
Refresh the page to see the error. Activate or deactivate PHP extensions on your server accordinlgy.
After fixing the issue, reverse the development mode and the database.php file changes.
